Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of Wnt2 in different type of gastric carcinoma based on the cancer-stromal relationship and its effect on the stromal fibrosis of scirrhous gastric carcinoma.Methods lmmunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of Wnt2 and β-catenin in 29 cases of scirrhous gastric carcinoma(SC group),29 cases of non-scirrhous gastric carcinoma(NSC group) and 30 adjaccnt non-tumour tissues(control group).Sirius red staining was performed to assess the expression of type Ⅰ and Ⅲ collagen fibers in the above 3 groups.Results The levels of the expression of Wnt2, β-catenin, type Ⅰ and Ⅲ collagen were significantly higher in SC group and NSC group than those in control group (P＜0.01).The expression of type Ⅰ and Ⅲ collagen was positively correlated with cytoplasma and nuclear expression of β-catenin but negatively correlated with cell membrane expression of β-catenin (P＜0.01).Conclusions Wnt/β-eatenin signaling pathway has a relationship with the pathogenesis of gastric cancer, and plays a role in the formation of scirrhous gastric carcinoma characterized by stromal fibrosis.关键词
