Abstract
Objectives To discuss the effect platelet aggregation induced by anticoagulant EDTA-K2 disturb platelet counts and WBC counts,then correct it. Methods The level of platelet counts and WBC counts in 17 patients with PTCP was measured to anti-clotting blood at 0,5,15 and 30 min,besides the level of platelet counts and WBC counts of fresh whole blood (no anticoagulant) was measured by automatic blood cell analysing instrument and manual counting. The smears made by the above sample were viewed under a microscope also. Results The level of platelet counts measured were lower by time longer to anticoagulants EDTA-K2 , Results measured at 5, 15 min and 30 min were lower than results measured at 0 min and the differences had statistical significance;The level of WBC counts measured at 30 min were lower than results measured at 0 min(P＜0. 01). The level of platelet counts and WBC counts was measured to anti-clotting blood at 0 min hadn't difference than it measured to fresh whole blood(no anticoagulant) by automatic blood cell analysing instrument and manual counting(P＞0. 05). Conclusion Platelet aggregation in patients with PTCP caused false platelet counts false reduce and WBC counts false increase. Review under a microscope should strengthen in clinical laboratory work. Manual platelet counts or smear microscopy examination should be done on blood samples which platelet reduction should be discovered for the first time to confirm the phenomenon of platelet aggregation induced false platelet reduce. The patients with PTCP was determined by measuring the fresh whole blood (no anticoagulant) by automatic blood cell analysing instrument immediately,manual counting or measuring anti-clotting blood immediately.关键词
