A REVIEW ON IMPACTS OF ATMOSPHERIC INTRASEASONAL OSCILLATION ON TROPICAL CYCLONE ACTIVITYIES

Abstract
Over the past 30 years, impacts of atmospheric intraseasonal oscillation on tropical cyclone activities have been increasingly becoming a focus by many in research community, and significant progress has been achieved in this area of study. In this article, a review is carried out on the impacts of the atmospheric intraseasonal oscillation on the tropical cyclone geneses, tracks and landfalls, and reveals the main mechanism of these impacts. Furthermore, the effects of the monsoon trough activities which are closely correlated to Intraseasonal Oscillation on tropical cyclones are reviewed. Based on the above, a brief discussion is made on requirements and prospects in this area of research in future, with some proposals on priority scientific issues therewithin.关键词
