Relationship Between Rock Mass Structure and Stability of Surface Well for Released Coal Gas

Abstract
Based on data from protective seam mining and engineering practices of surface well for released gas drainage, combined with the through-hole and logging, we didvide the deformation and failure of well casing into two types: 1) the casing failure caused by plastic deformation inside the rock mass in looser layer, and 2) the deformation or the failure caused by slippage of the rock mass along the weak structural surface in bed rock. The results show that the clay layer generally deforms plastically for its great thickness, low intensity and high compression. The horizontal shear occurs firstly in the mechanical weak surface such as lithological interrace in bedrock formation, and then the casing is broken. Finally, we proposed some possible preventive measures for the casing failure in high-risk section supported by the rock mass structure.关键词
