The Effect of Electro - acupuncture on Bone Quantity and Insulin - like Growth Factor in Osteoporosis Rats

Abstract
Objective: To study the effect of electro - acupuncture on bone quantity and insulin - like growth factor in osteoporosis rats. Methods: 50 female Wister rats were randomly divided into control, sham operation,model, estrogen, electro -acupuncture groups. After the bilaterally ovariectomized rats were made successfully and treated for 3 courses. The bone density and hepatic IGF - 1 、IGF -2 were measured. Results: In the model group,BMD,BMC and IGF- 1 were significantly lower than that in the control (P ＜0. 05). BMD、BMC and IGF - 1 significantly increased in the two treatment groups after treatment. There was no significant difference between the estrogen group and the electro - acupuncture group. IGF - 2 has no obvious change in the five groups. Conclusion: Electro- acupuncture influences insulin -like growth factor and bone quantity in osteoporosis rats.关键词
