Abstract
Objective To investigate the expressions of receptor for hyaluronan-mediated motility ( RHAMM) and extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK2) and their correlations with clinical pathological factors of colon cancer. and to evaluate their value in diagnosis and prognosis of colon cancer. Methods Real-time PCR was used to detect the expressions of RHAMM and ERK2 in 30 colon cancer tissues and 30 matched tumor-adjacent samples. Results The expressions of RHAMM and ERK2 in tumor tissues were significantly higher than those in tumor-adjacent samples(P ＜ 0.001) , and were not associated with tumor differentiation (P = 0.222 and P = 0.173 ,respectively) , but were associated with lymph node metastasis (P = 0.01 and P ＜ 0.001, respectively). There was signif'icant correlation between the expressions of RHAMM and ERK2 (r = 0.465 ,P = 0.009). Conclusion The expressions of RHAMM and ERK2 are higher in colon cancer than those in tumor-adjacent samples , and they are correlated to each other. Which suggest that RHAMM may involve in the pathogenesis and metastasis of colon cancer through Ras-ERK pathway. Expressions of RHAMM and ERK2 may he helpful in the diagnosis and prognosis of colon cancer.关键词
