摘要

Abstract

Exposure buildup factors up to 40 mean free paths ranging from 0.015 MeV to 15 MeV photon energy were calculated by using the Monte Carlo simulation code EGS4 for ordinary concrete.The calculation involves PHOTX cross section library, a point isotropic source, infinite uniform medium model and a particle splitting method and consideres the bremsstrahlung, fluorescent effect, correlative (Rayleigh) scatter. The results were compared with the relevant data. Results show that the data of the buildup factors calculated by the Monte Carlo code EGS4 was reliable. The Monte Carlo method can be used widely to calculate gamma- ray exposure buildup factors.
