Progression on inflammatory signaling pathway of atherosclerosis and the intervention of TCM
摘要
Abstract
Atherosclerosis ( AS ) is now understood to be a disease characterized by chronic inflammation caused by blood vessel endothelium lesion. In this review, we highlight the role of inflammatory signaling pathway including intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 ( VCAM-1 ), nuclear factor kappaB ( NF-κB ) and peroxisome proliferators activated receptor γ ( PPARγ ) in atherosclerosis.Moreover, this review also focuses on recent progresses of traditional Chinese medicine ( TCM ) in preventing or treating atherosclerosis.关键词
