摘要

Abstract

SiC particles were coated by Cu using heterogeneous deposition method. The iron matrix composites reinforced with SiCp(Cu) composite particles were fabricated using powder metallurgy method and vacuum hot-pressed method. XRD, SEM, Archimedes method, microhardness instrument and universal testing machine were used to investigate these composites. The effects of SiCp (Cu) composite powder addition on the mechanical properties of SiCp(Cu)/Fe composites were investigated. Moreover,the effect of Cu coating on the mechanical properties of SiCp( Cu )/Fe composites were also investigated.The results revealed that with the increase of SiCp(Cu) addition, the density,microhardness and bending strength of the SiCp (Cu)/Fe composites increased first then dropped. Among them the composites contained 6 wt% SiCp(Cu) which sintered at 950℃ has the optimum mechanical properties, the density was 97.2%, the microhardness was 430.5 HV and the bending strength was 788.96 MPa, comparing with iron matrix composite reinforced by SiC particle, the mechanical properties were enhanced by 2.7%,55.3 HV and 164.13 MPa, respectively.
