Abstract

Based on the success of methyl acetate hydrolysis by reactive distillation of our former work, an integrated technology of catalytic distillation and fixed bed of methyl acetate hydrolysis process is established to increase the rate of methyl acetate hydrolysis. The influences of the position of feed, the mole ratio of water to methyl acetate, the volume ratio of reflux to feed and space velocity on the conversion of methyl acetate and the mass ratio of acetic acid to water are studied through experiment, and appropriate conditions are obtained. At the mass ratio of acetic acid to water more than 1.17, the conversion of the integrated technology of methyl acetate hydrolysis process is more than 70%, better than the hydrolysis process of former single catalytic distillation.
