摘要

Abstract

“Scholar painting” is a certain product of drawing at a certain historical stage, whose creation purpose is for molding temperament and self-entertainment. As time going on, “Scholar Painting” pays attention to the artist' s expressing his uniqueness and individual feeling, breaking the shackles of the traditional aesthetic,which develops the traditional freehand drawing to new heights. “Eight Eccentrics in Yangzhou”, as a representative of this style of paintings, expresses their creativity not only inheriting the personality but worshiping the tradition of “Scholar Paintings”. Moreover, it brings the paintings to a new peak with its odd style and social content, which reflects the characteristics and art features of the times.
