Abstract
In this experiment, porous metal bond diamond wheels were prepared by hot-pressing sintering method using bronze bond and hollow sphere pore-forming agent. The grinding properties of porous metal bond diamond wheel were tested on alumina ceramic and cast iron. The results show that the grinding resistance of porous metal bond diamond wheel decreases with the porosity increasing, besides, the sharpness and grinding ratio of wheels as well as the ground surface quality of workpiece are improved. On the contrary, both the wheel sharpness and the surface quality of workpiece get worse with the porosity increasing, when the porosity exceed 30%. With the same amount of porosity, the sharpness of fine grit wheel is better than that of the coarse grit wheel. Compared with the grinding effect on HT250 cast iron, the porous metal bonded diamond wheel is more suitable for machining alumina ceramic.关键词
