Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To study the effect of antihypertensive drugs on von willebrand factor (vWF) and brachial ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV). METHODS: 135 patients with mild to moderate hypertension were randomly divided into nifedipine sustained-release tablet group (63 cases) or telmisartan group (65 cases). After treatment for 2 months, the decrease of blood index was compared between two groups. RESULTS: After treatment, the vWF and baPWV in nifedipine sustained-release tablet group decreased by 12.6％ and 113.3 cm·s-1, those of telmisartan group were 20.7％ and 217.3 cm·s-1. There was statistical significance between 2 groups. CONCLUSION: Nifedipine sustained-release tablet can decrease blood pressure to improve arterial elasticity. Telmisartan might improve arterial elasticity by other means besides decreasing blood pressure.关键词
