Abstract

In order to improve the electrochemical performance of LiFePO4, LiFePO4/C composite was synthesized via solid-state reaction with three types of carbon sources: acetylene black, citric acid and sucrose. The structure and electrochemical properties of LiFePO4/C composite were characterized by XRD, SEM, CV test and galvanostatic charge and discharge. The results indicate that LiFePO4/C composite prepared with sucrose as the carbon source exhibits excellent charge-discharge properties. At the discharge rate of 0.2 C, the initial discharge capacity of LiFePO4/C was 109.4, 130.4 mAh/g and 140.4 mAh/g with the acetylene black, citric acid and sucrose as carbon sources respectively at room temperature. With the different contents of sucrose, the performance of LiFePO4/C has obvious distinction. When adding carbon for 5%, the material has the highest discharge capacity of 154.3 mAh/g at 0.2 C at room temperature.
