Abstract
[Objective] To compare the surgical efficacy and safety of transurethral plasma kinetic resection of the prostate (PKRP) and transurethral vaporization resection of the prostate(TUVRP). [ Methods ] The clinical data of 341 patients with BPH treated by PKRP and TUVRP were analyzed retrospectively, and perioperative indicators and short-term efficacy between the two groups were compared. [ Results ] Operations were completed successfully in all patients and no significant intraoperative complications occurred. The operation time, post-operative washing time of TUVRP group (193 cases) were longer than that of PKRP group (148 cases) (P ＜0.05). No significant difference were found between two groups in the intraoperative blood loss, blood transfusion, catheter removal time, hospitalization time (P ＞0.05). Preoperatively, two groups showed no significant difference in IPSS, storage and voiding symptom score, QOL and Qmax (P ＞0.05). Reassessment of these five indicators before discharged presented that both groups had significant improvement (P ＜0.05), but the improvement was not significantly different between the two groups (P ＞0.05). [ Conclusions ] TUVRP and PKRP have similar effects on the short-term efficacy such as improvement of LUTS, but PKRP seems to be better than TUVRP in operation time and post-operative washing time.关键词
