Abstract
Objective To investigate the Doppler sonographic characteristics and its correlation with cervical lymph node metastasis in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Methods Color Doppler sonography was performed in 162 PTC patients with 169 PTC nodules, and pulse Doppler sonography was performed for 80 PTC nodules in 80 of the patients. Color Doppler sonography was used mainly for assessing the vascular pattern and level of blood supply, and pulse Doppler sonography was mainly for analyzing the parameters of blood flow velocity curve including peak systolic velocity (PSV), pulsatility index (PI) , resistance index (RI), and discrepancies of PSV, PI and RI. Single variable analysis was performed to evaluate the correlation of above-mentioned sonographic characteristics with cervical lymph node metastasis. Results Of Doppler sonographic characteristics, level of blood supply and discrepancy of RI of PTC nodule had correlation with cervical lymph node metastasis. Conclusions Some specific Doppler sonographic characteristics can in some extent predict the development of cervical lymph node metastasis.关键词
