Abstract
Al0.5CoCrFeNiB0.2 high-entropy alloys were prepared by vacuum arc melting. Microstructure and mechanical properties of the as-cast and heat treated alloys were investigated by X-ray diffraction, optical microscope, scanning electron microscope, Vichers hardness test, and room-temperature tensile test. The results show that the as-cast alloy exhibits simple fcc and bcc solid solution phases. The as-cast structure consists of dendritic primary α1 phase, granular α2 phase, and the eutectic structure containing α1 phase and lamellar β phase. And α2 phase is enriched by Ni and Al, while β phase is enriched by Cr, Fe and B. However, after heat treatments the phase structure remains unchanged. As temperature of heat treatments increases, primary α1 phase grows with β phase dissolution. Furthermore, the alloys were strengthened by annealing and quenching. The room-temperature tensile strength of the alloy annealed at 800 ℃ for 10 h increases from 850.14 MPa of the as-cast to 1 232 MPa. Meanwhile, the tensile strength and plastic strain of the alloy quenched at 1 000 ℃ for 10 h are superior to the as-cast alloy.关键词
