The efficacy of ganglioside combined with compound salvia miltiorrhiza injection for hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy in neonates

Abstract
Objective To explore the efficacy of ganglioside plus compound salvia miltiorrhiza injection for hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy ( HIE )in neonates. Methods 86 neonates with HIE who had been hospitalized during January 2007 to January 2010 were randomly assgined to study group and control group ( 43 for each group ). The control group received three supporting therapies and symptomatic treatment and the study group received ganglioside plus compound salvia miltiorrhiza injection in addition to the therapies used in the control group. Results The total effectiveness rate was 97.67% in the study group and 72.09% in the control group, with a statistical significance ( P＜0.05 ). The NBNA scores did not differ significantly between the two groups before treatment ( P＞0.05 ), but differed significantly on days 5 to 7 and days 10 to 14 ( P＜ 0.05 ). Conclusions Ganglioside combined with compound miltiorrhiza salvia injection has a marked efficacy in the treatment of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, not only raising the cure rate effectively, but also reducing the rate of disability effectively.关键词
