Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical results of Hybrid external fixation in treatment of high energy fractures of the distal tibia.Methods 15 patients with distal tibia fracture were admitted to treat with the use of a Hybrid external fixation.Results 15 cases were followed up for 12 ～ 30 months.Radiographic evidence of union was observed at 5.7 ±2.1 months ( range, 4 ～22 months ).One patient has delayed union, and reoperation was done with open reduction and internal fixation and autograft of ilium.According the AOFAS Ankle-Hindfoot Scale, the mean score was 88( range, 52 ～ 100 ).Conclusions In treatment of distal tibia fractures, the Hybrid external fixation can well maintain the stability of the fragments with a low incidence of soft tissue complications.关键词
