Abstract
Objective To explore the diagnosis and surgical procedure of soft tissue tumors in the popliteal fossae.Methods A retrospective study was conducted to evaluate surgical excision of 117 cases of popliteal soft tissue tumors. The preoperative diagnosis was compared with pathologic diagnosis and surgical complications was analyzed.Results Totally 117 cases included 96 popliteal cysts and 21 non-popliteal cysts were related to 11 disease. The correct rate of preoperative diagnosis was 85.5％( popliteal cysts 94.8％ , non-popliteal cysts 42. 9％ ). All cases were followed up 8 to 38( 36 ± 3.6 ) years except 4 cases, 109 cases were cured,4 cases were recurrence and 2 died. Complications were seen in 6 cases. Conclusions Soft tissue tumors in the popliteal fossae are related to much broader spectrum of diseases. On curing popliteal cyst, it is important to master surgical indications and crucial points of operation procedure. Because histological features of non-popliteal cyst is difficult to detemine, surgical treatment should be adviced for initial choise.关键词
