摘要

Abstract

Objective To analyze the clinicopathological significance of ligand SDF-1 and its receptor CXCR4 expression in breast carcinoma,ductal carcinoma in situ and adjacent tissues and clarify the roles of SDF-1/CXCR4 biological axis in the pathogenesis of breast cancer. Methods SDF-1 and CXCR4 protein expression were examined in 80 cases of breast carcinoma, 15 cases of ductal carcinoma in situ and 15 cases of adjacent tissue by immunohistochemistry. SDF-1 and CXCR4 mRNA expression were determined in 40 cases of breast invasive carcinoma, 5 cases of ductal carcinoma in sim and 5 cases of normal tissue adjacent to cancer tissues by RT-PCR. Results The protein and mRNA expreresions of SDF-1 and CXCR4 were different in breast carcinoma and ductal carcinoma in situ,ductal carcinoma in situ and adjacent tissues (P < 0.05 ). The expression of CXCR4 protein was related to lymph node metastasis and breast cancer stage (P <0.05). Both protein and mRNA expression of SDF-1 and CXCR4 were positively correlated in breast carcinoma (P < 0.05). Conclusion SDF-1/CXCR4 biological axis might play an important role in promoting breast cancer growth and metastasis.
