Expressions of Placenta Inhibin-A, Activin-A and Inhibin-B Genes in Preeclamptic Pregnancy

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the mRNA expression and the significance of inhibin-A,activin-A and inhibin-B subunites in the placenta from preeclamptic patients.Methods: The mRNA levels of inhibin-A, activin-A and inhibin-B subunites in the placenta from 44 pre-eclamptic patients and 30 normal pregnancies were measured by RT-PCR.Results: The mRNA levels of inhibin-A α-βA subunite and activin-A βA-βA subunite in the placentas from pre-eclamptic patients were significantly higher than those in the placenta from normal pregnancies (P < 0.05 ), while the mRNA expression of inhibin-B α-βB subunit between the preeclamptic and normal pregnancy groups were no significant difference( P>0.05).Conclutions: The mRNA levels of inhibin-A α-βA subunite and activin-A βA-βA subunite increased significantly in the placenta from pre-eclamptic patients.The levels of inhibin-A and activin-A can reflect the function of trophoblastic cells, so they could be useful markers to monitor the function of placenta, and involve in the pathophysiologic process of preeclampsia.关键词
