Abstract
Combined with practical engineering, stress concentration on the reinforcement of pressure hull of submarine with large opening was studied.Different forms of reinforcement were investigated by the Finite Element Method (FEM) and rules of thumb.Models were constructed and the stress concentration factors were worked out.By comparing and analyzing the results from these two methods, it shows that the bending hoop stress of opening where lies in maximum hoop membrane stress cannot be ignored when the opening stiffened by coaming.The calculations also prove effective in reinforcement of structural design of large openings.关键词
