Partial Channel Information Based Relay Selection Algorithm

Abstract
The relay selection algorithm in amplify-and-forward (AF) cooperative networks is presented. Different from the previous work where the relay selection is based on the instantaneous channel state information (CSI) of two hops, the proposed relay selection algorithm is based on the instantaneous CSI of the first hop and the statistical CSI of the second one. It selects the relay with the largest multiplication of the instantaneous SNR of the first hop and the average SNR of the second hop. Then, the outage probability of the proposed relay selection algorithm is derived. Moreover, an enhanced selection algorithm is proposed. The algorithm selects the relay whose anticipant outage probability is the lowest with the priori information of the instantaneous CSI of the first hop. The simulation results confirm the analytical results of the proposed algorithm and verify that the performance of the proposed algorithm is better than those of other algorithms.关键词
