Sample Survey of Human Resources and Work Situation of Community Health Services in Guangdong Province

Abstract
Objective To investigate current situation of human resources, job satisfaction and joh stability among community health services staff in Guangdong Province and the reasons, in order to provide evidence for the rational development and utilization of community health manpower. Methods A self - designed questionnaire survey was conducted among randomly sampled 335 community health workers from 10 services centers and 7 services stations located in the central, eastern, western and northern regions in Guangdong Province. Results The proportion between doctors and nurses among community health services staff in Guangdong Province was reasonable , but the professional structure was irrational, such as lack of public health physician and Chinese medicine physicians, lower levels of education and professional titles of the staff; the job satisfaction of the staff was lower; and the proportion of the staff with turnover intention was higher. Conclusion It is necessary to take various measures to optimize the community health human resources. to meet hasic needs of the staff. to strive to improve job satisfaction, to enhance organizational commitment, and to retain and attract the professionals in community health services.关键词
