Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of cardiopulmonary bypass ( CPB ) on blood - brain barrier ( BBB ) and the expression of tight junction ( TJ ) protein of cerebral vascular endothelium in rat model. METHODS 24 adult male Sprague -Dawley rats were randomly divided into two groups: group S served as shame - operated group without CPB; the rats of group C underwent 60 minutes of CPB and were observed 2 hours later. The Evans blue content of brain tissue was measured in 6 rats of each group,the water content of brain tissue, the Occludin and ZO - 1 expression of brain tissue, and the ultrastructural of BBB were observed in the another 6 ones of each group. RESULTS Compared with group S, the Evans blue content and water content of group C significantly increased ( P <0. 05 ),the expression of Occludin and ZO - 1 of group C significantly decreased ( P <0. 05 ). The basement membrane of BBB of group S was uniform, but that of group C was swollen. The TJ between endothelia of group S was intact, but that of group C was unclear. CONCLUSION CPB destroys the structure of BBB and increases the permeahility of it, which may have relationship with the change of TJ protein.关键词
