Animal model of plague: classics and questions
摘要
Abstract
The research on Yersinia pestis greatly focuses on the pathogenetic mechanism, vaccines and treatments.Effective animal models of plague are the basis of these researches.Numerous types of animal models of plague have been developed, including mice, guinea pigs and non-human primates, etc., and they are useful for understanding, defending and treating this disease.Some classic models are still used at present for different purposes, however, others were discarded because of certain problems.The advantages and disadvantages of different animal models of plague are summarized and discussed in this review.关键词
