Expression and significance of toll-like receptor 2 and toll-like receptor 4 in placenta of idiopathic fetal growth restriction

Abstract
Objective : To investigate the expression and significance of toll-like receptor 2(TLR2) and toll-like receptor 4( TLR4) in placenta of idiopathic fetal growth restriction ( IFGR) , to explore the possible etiology and pathogenesis of IFGR. Methods :30 cases of pregnant women with IFGR underwent cesarean section in our hospital from June. 2009 to April.2010 as the experimental group and 30 cases of normal term pregnant women because of social factors received terminating cesarean section as the control group at the same period. The expression levels of placenta TLR2 and TLR4 were detected with immunohistochemistry. Results :( 1 ) The positive expressions of TLR2 and TLR4 with different levels were observed in placenta of the two groups. (2)In experimental group,the expression of TLR2 and TLR4 in syncytiotrophoblast cells were significantly higher than those of the control group, ( P＜0. 05 ) . Conclusion : ( 1) The causes of IFGR were related with the increased expression of TLR2 and TLR4 in placental tissues and they may be one of the key pathogenesis of IFGR. (2)lt provides basis for the proper prevention or cure of IFGR using the immune intervention therapies in clinic.关键词
