The Application of Phase Synchronization in Epilepsy Studies

Abstract
Synchronous oscillation is a common phenomenon in the nervous system, which is an important breakthrough to understand the mechanism of the brain in information processing. The synchronization among different frequency bands, which plays an important role in epilepsy has encoded different stimuli. This article introduces the methods for the phase extraction by using Hilbert and wavelet transforms, methods of the phase synchronization, including Coherence analysis, Phase locking value, Shannon entropy and their applications in the synchronization analysis for epilepsy EEG. It may provide a theoretical basis for extracting the brain function information and understanding the mechanism of phase synchronization on epileptic seizure.关键词
