Abstract
An index scale commonly has several problems, such as the limitation of the highest importance level,poor correspondence between language description and the digital level for the degree of importance, and difficulty in determining the importance ratio. Some recommendations were given for these problems. Concerning the characteristics of a sense comparison matrix constructed from an index scale, the method of improving the consistency of a sense comparison matrix was transformed into a method for solving a quadratic programming problem. Accordingly,an algorithm was proposed to construct a totally consistent sense comparison matrix and compute the index weight.Finally, a numerical example demonstrated the proposed algorithm. The amendment suggestions made the index scale more practical. With the new method, fully consistent comparisons can be constructed, which are not available with other consistency improved algorithms. The example result showed the new algorithm's feasibility.关键词
