Abstract
Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of POEMS syndrome for improving clinical understanding of this syndrome. Methods 29 cases of POEMS syndrome were reviewed retrospectively which were diagnosed in last 6 years and analyzed with the pertinent literatures. Results All patients were shown to have peripheral neuropathy, hepatomegaly, splenomegaly, lymphadenectasis, endocrinopathy, skin changes, edema and plastcytosis in bone marrow were commonly found in these patients. Conclusion It's a rare multisystem disease and its clinical manifestations are complicated, which made it difficult to diagnose. When encounter with patients presented with peripheral nerve damage of unknown cause, especially combined with skin changes, peripheral edema, or endocrine metabolic disorders, POEMS syndrome should be considered.关键词
