Abstract
Objective To investigate the serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor in patients with lung cancer and to explore the relationship between the serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor on prognosis and platelet. Methods The serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor were measured in sixty patients with lung cancer and twenty normal controls by enzyme -linked immunosorbent assay, the platelet counts were measured. Results The serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor in patients with lung cancer were significantly higher than those in normal controis. The serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor in patients with lung cancer were not related to histological classification, P- TNM. There was negative correlation between the serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor in patients with lung cancer and survival( r = -0.38, P ＜ 0.01 ),the serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor positively correlated to platelet counts( r =0.26,P ＜0.05). Conclusion There was significantly correlation between the serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor in patients with lung cancer and prognosis, the serum level of vascular endothelial growth factor may be a reliable predictor for prognosis. The serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor also correlated with platelet counts. Platelet plays an important role in the angiogenesis of lung cancer.关键词
