Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical distribution and drug resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii, and to provide useful help for the treatment of A.baumannii infection.METHODS: A total of 328 nonduplicate strains of A.baumannii were collected from our hospital during 2006- 2009.All of isolated A.baumannii wers tested by Kirby-Bauer susceptibility.The drug susceptibility data was analyzed by WHONET 5.5 software.RESULTS: The samples were mainly from lower respiratory tract, accounting for 78.4%; the common drug resistance of A.baumannii were serious.The drug resistance rate of A.baumannii to Cefoperazone/sulbactam was the lowest, accounting for 10.5%; the drug resistance rates to imipenem, minocycline and amikacin were 40.1%,32.9% and 56.1%, respectively; the drug resistance difference of isolated A.baumannii between ICU and other clinical department were remarkable, and the former was nearly twice higher than the latter.The detection rate of multi-drug resistant A.baumannii (MDR-AB) and pan-drug resistant A.baumannii (PDR-AB) increased year by year, from 70.4% and 7.4% in 2006 up to 73.9% and 28.5% in 2009.CONCLUSION: A.baumannii mainly distributes in sputum samples, and the infection in ICU is in serious condition.The detection rate and drug resistance rate is increasing.Cefoperazone/sulbactam, minocycline and carbapenems is the most effective agent against A.baumannii.The MDR-AB and PDR-AB is increasing significantly in recent two years, so it should be taken a high attention and the necessary prevention and control measures should be adopted.
