Abstract
Objective To explore the application value of hepatic artery embolization in the treatment of cavernous hemangioma of liver ( CHL ). Methods The hepatic arteries of 57 cases of CHL were embolized with pingyangnycin, iodized oil emulsion and gelatin sponge using Seldinger technology. The larger lesions were embolized again with the interval of two months. CT or MRI fellow - up were done in 6 months - 1 year after operation. Results 8 of 57 cases were embolized 2 times,2 of them 3 times,and 57 cases were embolized 69 times in total. The fellow - up examination in 6 months - 1 year after operation showed that lesions shrinking above 50％ ,25％ - 50％ and less than 25％ occurred in 28,24 and 5 cases, respectively. The total efficient rate was 91.2％.Preoperative CT and MRI showed that lesions shrinking less than 25％ were not enhanced obviously. Conclusion Hepatic artery embolization is of obvious effectiveness to treat CHL, but its therapeutic effects on inapparent enhanced lesions according to preoperative MRI and CT is not satisfied.关键词
