Optical Properties of PbWO4 Crystals Grown by Vertical Gradient Freeze Method

Abstract
This paper reported the growth and characterization of PWO crystal grown by the vertical gradient freeze method (VGF). By optimizing the growth parameters, PWO crystal up to 25 mm in diameter and 140 mm in length was obtained successfully. The optical properties of as-grown crystal were measured, including transmission spectra, fluorescence spectra and so on. The results show that the transmittance of PWO(VGF) crystal in the 350-420 nm rang increases; the highest luminescence peak at 435 nm is the fast emission peak, but the proportion of slow light increases.关键词
