Mechanical Responses of Deck Pavement Utilized in Long-span Cement Concrete Bridges

Abstract
In order to investigate the mechanical response of deck pavement on long-span cement concrete bridges, a box girder bridges, flanged girder bridge and continuous girder bridge were modeled respectively. The finite element analysis software ABAQUS was utilized to build three-dimensional models for these three types of bridges. The mechanical responses of different thickness deck pavements on the bridges with different spans under traffic and thermal loadings were analyzed. The results indicated that the effects of the bridge span and pavement thickness on the pavement mechanical response were independent. The longer span bridge undergone vechile loads would significantly increase horizontal tensile stress in the pavement, while vertical shear stress in the pavement and the shear stress at the bottom layer changed little. However, the effect of the bridge span under thermal loading was not obvious to the thermal stress in the pavement. Therefore, the pavement materials of high tensile strength and anti-cracking performance should be utilized in the long-span cement concrete bridges. Thereby, the pavement performance and service life could be guaranteed.关键词
