PS/PPO合金的燃烧行为研究
Study on Combustion Behavior of PS/PPO Alloy

Abstract
A series of PS/PPO alloys with different compositions were obtained by melt-compounding PS and PPO in a HAAKE rheometer.The thermal stability and combustion performance of the alloy were studied by means of thermogravimetry, high-temperature pyrolysis, oxygen index and cone calorimetry.It is indicated that both degradation temperature and char residue amount of the PS/PPO alloy increase and the thermal stability of the alloy enhances noticeably in comparison with virgin PS.With increase of PPO loading, the oxygen index value of the alloy increases, and heat release rate (HRR) and mass loss rate (MLR) decrease.The addition of 20 phr PPO can increase the oxygen index value of the alloy by 3.4% and decrease HRR by 16.4%.It is found that the introduction of PPO greatly enhances the charring ability of the alloy.The char residue covers on the surface of the polymer material and forms a protection layer.The shielding and obstructing effects of the carbon layer to heat transfer and move of oxygen and fuel molecules are responsible for the increase of fire retardancy.关键词
