Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinical significance of vascular endothelial growth factor ( VEGF )in patients with chronic hepatitis B ( CHB ), and provide theoretical reference for the diagnosis and treatment of CHB. Method: 120 patients were divided into mild CHB (30 cases), moderate CHB (43 eases) and severe CHB ( 47 cases ) according to the clinical classification. Serum VEGF levels of 120 cases of CHB and 40 eases of healthy individuals were detected by electro-chemiluminescenee immuncassay. The conventional parameters of liver function were detected by autoroatic biochemical analyzer. Result: VEGF, TBIL and ALT levels of CHB group were signifieantly higher than those in control group, whereas PTA level of CHB group was significantly lower than those of control group ( P＜0.05, respectively ). VEGF and TBIL levels of CHB patients increased with the disease progression, and significant difference was found among the three groups of mild, rooderate and severe group ( P＜0.05 ); PTA level of CHB patients decreased with the disease progression, and there was significant difference among the three groups ( P ＜0.05 ), but ALT level of CHB patients showed no significant difference among the three groups (P＜0.05 ). VEGF level was positively correlated with TBIL level ( r = 0.831, P＜0.01 ) and negatively correlated with PTA level （r = -0.620, P＜0.01), but it was not correlated with ALT level (r = O. 169, P＞0.05). Conclusion: VEGF involved in the pathogenesis of CHB is an important predictor for evaluating the severity of CHB.关键词
