摘要

Abstract

Five species of Chaenomeles Lind1. (Rosaceae), originated in East Asia, and five species (three endemic) with diversity varieties of Chaenomeles in China, as one of the medicinal and ornamental plant resources, had been cultivated since from 2 000 years ago, usually considered as one of the Chinese Traditional Medicine materials. Four species ( and some varieties) of Chaenomeles growing in Yunnan province, have the higher potential used as medicines and nutritional food supplements. The ethnic minorities in Yunnan have accumulated enough experiences and indigenous knowledge of utilization of Chaenomeles fruits in aspects of medicine purposes, environmental conservation purpose and cash income increase; while in terms of the new variation of horticulture cultivation, new products industrialization, the gap still existed comparing with other developed area. The expected objectives of mountainous agriculture ecological environment improvement, rural people cash-income increase, and harmonious development of ethic region can be reached during the process of agriculture structural adjustment with the help of investigation, exploitation on indigenous knowledge system on Chaenomeles, coupled with modern chemical analytical techniques,or combining the both approaches, and the traditional Chaenomeles cultivation patter characterized with the proper environment benefits.
