摘要

Abstract

Magnesium (Mg) alloys are promising materials for a number of applications due to their combination of low density and lots of excellent properties, however, the relatively high corrosion susceptibility and poor wear resistance of Mg alloys prevent their widespread use in many fields, it is necessary to utilize suitable surface treatment to promote their properties. The application and surface treatment research progress of Mg alloys are described. Up to date,Mg alloys are being increasingly applied to various industries like auto, electron, aviation and spaceflight, etc. , a good number of surface modification procedures such as chemistry treatment, anode oxidation, micro-arc oxidation (MAO),etc. have been developed and used with a reasonable degree of success in different applications. The progress of the MAO treatment on Mg alloys are emphasized to be introduced, the development trend of the MAO treatment on Mg alloys in future is analysed basing on the author's research work about the MAO treatment on Mg alloys; In the last part of the paper, the prospect of surface treatment research and development of Mg alloys in future is presented.
