Isolation and Indentification of Shigellae from Chicken in Some Regions of Henan Province and Their Susceptibility Tests to Drugs

Abstract
In order to indentify and test drugs sensitivity to the Shigellae from chicken in some region of Henan province,the bacteria for the diseased diarrhea from six regions in Henan province were examined in this study.Isolating, observations of bacteria appearance, cultivating characteristics and biochemical characteristics in addition to animal testing finally showed that twelve bacteria belong to Shigellae.Serological typing test were performed and showed that these strains have differences in species and types.The results revealed that eight strains were identified for S.flexneri, three strains were identified for S.boydii, and the other one strain was identified for Ⅱ type S.dysenteriae infection.Animal experiments suggested that the tweleve Shigellae are pathogenic but the virulence are different.The strain from Sanmenxia is virulent and the morbidity and mortality are both 100％.The sensitivity tests to drugs show that most Shigellae isolated from chicken are sensitive to ampicillin/sulbactam and amikacin,but showed serious resistant to other drugs.The susceptibilities are different among the Shigellae isolatesfrom different regions.The study provides a scientific basis for Shigella bacteria on chicken diagnosis and treatment of disease.关键词
