Abstract
Objective To investigate the situation of poor vision in middle school students and to provide evidences for the prevention and treatment in the future. Methods A total of 477 junior middle school students were selected. The eyesight of the students was detected consistently from 2007 to 2009 by using international standard logarithmic visual acuity charts according to the unified criteria of the implementation proposal and detailed examination rules of health and physique condition among Chinese students in 2005. Results The rate of poor vision in new admitted junior middle school students was 61.6％, with an increasing tendency year by year, especially the severed poor vision. The poor vision rate in girls is significantly higher than that in boys but without statistic differences. Conclusion The continual rising of poor vision rate among middle school students arose a wide attention of the society and it is necessary to take effective measures to prevent it after expounding on the related factors which induce the poor vision.关键词
