摘要

Abstract

A pedestal mounted on a flat plate was usually used to resemble the configuration of electronic components in numerical study of jet impingement.The RNG κ-ε model was used to compute the heat transfer and flow field of a semi-confined turbulent axisymmetric jet, impinging onto a pedestal mounted on a flat plate.Heat transfer characteristics were investigated on the pedestal top and side face, as well as on the plate.The influence of Reynolds number and nozzle-to-pedestal distance on heat transfer and flow was studied.It showed that at a shorter impinging distance the Nusselt number on the pedestal's top surface decreases firstly from the stagnation point and then increases slightly.It was near the pedestal corner that the heat transfer coefficient has a maximum.The simulation results present the complex features like separation and reattachment on the plate which strongly influence the wall temperature distribution and heat transfer coefficient.
