Abstract
Objective To research the expressions of Notch 1, Delta 4 and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in human non -small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and to explore its clinical significance. Methods Immunohistochemical SP method was used to detect the expressions of Notch 1, Delta 4 and VEGF in these 55 NSCLC tissues and 30 normal epithelial tissues of the lung. The RT - PCR was used to detect the mRNA of Notch 1, Delta 4 and VEGF. Cases were selected from those patients who were admitted from Jan 2008 to Jan 2010 to our hospital, and diagnosed as NSCLC. Controls were selected from patients admitted to other than malignant lung tumors, who met the same age and residential criteria for eligibility as the cases. Results The positive rates and mRNA level of Notch 1, Delta and VEGF in NSCLC were higher than those in normal epithelial tissues of the lung (P < 0. 05). Expression of Notch 1, Delta4 and VEGF were closely related with the tumor stage, the tumor differentiation and lymph node metastasis (P < 0. 05 ). Conclusion The expression of Notch 1, Delta4 and VEGF play an important role in the progress of lung cancer, and in evaluating the prognosis of NSCLC.关键词
