Abstract
Arc mode and voltage characteristics of intermediate frequency vacuum arc (400~800 Hz) in cup-type vacuum interrupter with transverse magnetic field (TMF) have been studied.Experiments were carried out under condition of a shield-removed cup-type TMF vacuum interrupter with a contact diameter of 66 mm and a contact opening distance of 4mm in a single-frequency oscillating circuit.Experimental results showed if the current increases to a certain value, the arc rotates distinctively.If not, obvious arc rotation could not be observed.Arc movement characteristics are mainly affected by the magnetic field.Arc movement is not the reason to generate high-frequency arc voltage noise.Only when the cathode spots occupy the entire cathode surface, could arc voltage generate high-frequency noise.The correlations between the arc voltage and the amplitude and frequency of the current were achieved in this study.关键词
