Abstract
Discharge in the downstream of rivers declines due to the consumption of water resources by human activities, therefore the influence of water consumption must be considered when calculating flux and rate of CO2 consumption by rock weathering in river drainage basin.This paper re-estimates flux and rate of CO2 consumption by silicate weathering in the Huanghe River drainage basin concerning the water consumption in the whole drainage using the data we discussed in 2007.The flux and rate of CO2 consumption by silicate weathering in the Huanghe River drainage basin are 19.92 × 109 mol · a-1 and 26.50 ×103 mol · km-2 · a-1.The contribution of water consumption to CO2 consumption by silicate weathering is as the same magnitude as that estimated by the runoff of Huanghe River Estuary.Aiming at the complex distribution of various rock types in the Huanghe River drainage basin, a calculating method of flux and rate of CO2 consumption by rock weathering concerning contribution of water consumption in the three reaches of the Huanghe River is presented, and the results show that: atmospheric CO2 consumption flux by silicate weathering decreases in the following order: midstream> upstream>downstream, while atmospheric CO2 consumption rate decreases in the order: upstream>midstream>downstream.Atmospheric CO2 consumption flux by silicate weathering in the upstream and midstream of the Huanghe River are 33 and 37 times as that in the downstream respectively.关键词
