Design and Parameters Calculation of a High-voltage Static Var Compensator

Abstract
In order to improve system stability and to increase the power factor, we put forward a new approach of design for a high-voltage static var compensator and parameter calculation, in which the system adopts a photoelectric trigger, and control commands are produced by upper computer and transferred to monitoring system in a low potential computer by ethernet. After analyzing and processing data, a monitoring system deduces the trigger and testing orders, which are sent to a trigger board in the high-voltage by fiber according to sync signal. To control the thyristor trigger and to detect the fault condition of the thyristor, the fault signals are returned to the monitoring system by fiber, too. The system control algorithm can not only achieve the power factor compensation, but also a-chieve unbalance compensation. We also present a description of the hardware architecture and the parameter calculation of loop inductance and average voltage circuit. Moreover, in order to optimize the parameters of passive filter, a Logistic mapping and its chaos feature are introduced and adopted to calculate a set of optimized parameters. At last, the simulation and experiment results show that the system has a good compensation effect and high reliability.关键词
