Abstract
Holographic diagnosis and high-speed schlieren photography were applied to study the atomization of liquid jets in supersonic crossflow under various experimental conditions,which contain the stream total pressure, the stream Mach number, the nozzle diameter and the injection pressure.The process and the theoretical principal of liquid jets atomization in the supersonic crossflow have been studied preliminary.Atomization parameters such as Weber number and ()h number have been acquired as well.The jet penetration heights under different experimental conditions and the spatial distributions of diameters and number density of the droplets have been measured.Results indicate that the instability wave growth on the surface is one of the primary factors to liquid jet breaking up in supersonic crossflow.The jet penetration height will increase if the jet-to-air momentums flux ratios or orifice diameters increase.Moreover, the study demonstrates the process of liquid jet atomization is very speedy in supersonic crossflow, i.e.,the liquid jet is broken into droplets of mean diameter 10μm at 20mm downstream the nozzle bank.As the droplets move downstream, the mean diameter decreases and distributions of mean diameters and number density become uniform gradually.关键词
