Abstract

[ Objective] In order to reduce the heavy metal pollution in vegetables, the sensitivities of leafy vegetables to heavy metals were studied. [ Method] Three kinds of leafy vegetables which were Lactuca sativa L. , pakchoi and lettuce were planted with pot experiment. With adding exogenous heavy metal Cu,Zn and Pb, the heavy metal content in soil reached the default values. And the content change of heavy metals Cu, Zn, Pb in vegetables was determined in experiment room. [ Result] First, the heavy metals content in vegetables were related to heavy metals content in soil closely; the correlation coefficients were 0.91 -0. 95, and increased with the increase of total heavy metals in soil; the heavy metal enrichment ability of pakchoi was strongest, and the max value of enrichment coefficient reached 0. 51; so the pakchoi was most sensitive vegetable to heavy metal in this experiment. Second, the enrichment abilities of vegetables to Cu and Zn were stronger than that of Pb. Third, The soil environmental quality in garden located in south of Xi' an city has reached 1 level, and the environment residual capacity of Cu、Zn、Pb in soil were 59.2, 205.8, 3.2 mg/kg respectively, the environment residual capacity of Pb was close to threshold.[ Conclusion] The enrichment abilities of different vegetables to heavy metals should be considered in distribution of vegetable production, vegetables with lower enrichment abilities should be planted in more serious heavy metal pollution areas.
