Abstract

The adaptable pH, effect of dose, dynamic performance and capacity of reuse of the hydrous zirconium oxide absorbent are studied through the relevant static and dynamic experiment. The experiment shows that the absorption performance of the absorbent is better when pH is within a range of 2.0~4.0; for the raw water with the fluoride content of 3.72 mg/L, the fluoride concentration can be lowered below 1.0 mg/L, if the dosage of the adsorbent is 0. 5 g/100 mL. In the experiment, 3 cycles of column experiments of adsorption-desorption are made in series, for which the pH of the raw water is adjusted to 3.0 and the residence time in the column is controlled to 3 min. It is demonstrated that the hydrous zirconium oxide absorbent has a better desorption performance, and then can be reused as well.
